Development Application (DA): A DA is the regulatory approval that must be obtained prior to commencing a development. Approval is issued by the relevant local government authority. An approved DA authorises assessable development to take place – with or without conditions.

Preparing a quality development application and checking to ensure it is ‘properly made’ (in accordance with the Planning Act 2016) is the key to having it fully assessed in a timely manner. If an application is ‘not properly made’ , it can result in time delays and/or the application being unable to be accepted.
