Successful Defence supply chain grant
We’re very pleased to have been successful in receiving funding to help compete for national and international defence industry contracts.
Defence is such a big part of the Townsville and Northern Australia community – we’re hoping to grow our role as part of this supply chain.
Thank you to the Queensland Government for this opportunity!
BM Director completes AICD role
BM Director Raneir Melick hosted his final event as Chair of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) Townsville chapter in November.
The end of year dinner focussed on governance in the sports arena and collected present donations to support the great therapy work undertaken by Cootharinga North Queensland.
Townsville’s AICD chapter has a big following – almost 300 members – and provides important information, professional development opportunities, and hosts events throughout the year for directors, business leaders and members of the broader community.
Raneir is stepping down from his AICD Townsville role after serving the maximum allowable nine years on the Committee, including as Chair since 2016. Congratulations Raneir on a great event, a fantastic outcome for the community, and great service to the AICD organisation!
Inspiring the workforce of the future
In November, we were pleased to take part in Townsville Enterprise’s “STEAM in the Regions” forum, an initiative to bring together industry, educators and researchers to help plan the future of North Queensland’s workforce.
We’re passionate about inspiring young people into the STEAM fields and showcasing the exciting career opportunities in our industry. Our Senior Registered Surveyor Stephen Jess took part in a panel discussion on partnerships between industry and schools. Stephen volunteers with the CSIRO’s STEM Professionals in Schools programme, working with teachers and Townsville primary school students to inspire a passion for STEM and consider a STEM-related career.
Congratulations to Townsville Enterprise on this fantastic initiative!

BM Director celebrates STEM at Thuringowa State High School
Brazier Motti Director Raneir Melick joined Herbert Member of Parliament Philip Thompson and a class of Thuringowa State High School students to celebrate CSIRO National STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths) Day in October.
This initiative brings together students, politicians, and industry representatives from across Australia together to celebrate the STEM fields and the career opportunities available to students.
BM is always keen to encourage the next generation of planners and surveyors in Northern Australia, so Raneir was pleased to be able to showcase the STEM work and opportunities in our team.
